Find out why one of the country’s leading equine rehabilitation centres uses Flexiride for the best results.
Set in 150 acres of rolling Worcestershire countryside, Froglands Stud Farm is a purpose-built facility run by former jockey and showjumper Claire Dyson.
Offering rehabilitation and fitness conditioning for horses across all disciplines, the facilities at Froglands Stud, including a water treadmill, salt therapy room and solarium, are state-of-the-art, with horse welfare and wellbeing at the heart of the operation.
So when it came to choosing the surface for her one-and-a-half-furlong training track, it’s no surprise Claire opted for Flexiride.
“It’s excellent for natural movement and very kind on the horses,” Claire explains.
“We do all our schooling, including over jumps, on the surface, so it’s very high usage. The horses travel at speed, especially around the corners, but we have complete confidence in Flexiride.”
‘Easy to lay and maintain’
Given the yard’s focus on rehabilitation, a supportive surface was at the top of Claire’s wishlist. With its special cushioning fibres, Flexiride protects legs and joints and promotes good movement.
Alongside this, with a year-round busy schedule, Claire has been impressed by how easy Flexiride was to install
and maintain.
“We’re exposed to the elements up here, but the surface copes brilliantly with frost, allowing us to use it regularly throughout the winter months,” she says. “Conversely it’s also great during dry weather, so it’s a real year-round option. We turn it over using a digger and
a small chain and it couldn’t be simpler.”
Claire also cites how easy Flexiride is to install.
“We resurfaced a month ago and all it took was one person on a digger just a few hours to get the job done,” she explains.
